Local Government Events Calendar

The LGA compiles a calendar of Local Government events for the state. The calendar includes scheduled dates for major LGA and LGA Education & Training Service events, and a variety of Local Government meetings and events provided by councils.

Please note that the event dates listed in the calendars are subject to change without notice, and you are strongly encouraged to confirm details with the host organisation.

Councils can contribute their own events to the calendar by entering them into their Unity™ console. See "Creating Events" below.

Reoccurring Events

In Unity you can setup reoccurring events for events that occur regularly. For example you may want to do this for your council and DAP meetings which occur at regular intervals.

The Events Object has an Event Generator that gives editors the ability to create a number of Events Objects based on a Parent Event. Individual Events can then be editing/deleted etc as required without affecting any other Event. For instance to cater for a public holiday that falls on a particular day you can delete only that Event.

To create reoccurring events, first start by creating a Parent Event. The Parent Event will set all the main details, like the location and contacts, and it should be the next upcoming event/meeting. See "Creating Events" above then proceed below:

From the Content menu go > Council Data and select Events.

Now find your parent event. Here you will see a list of all the events, including past events.

  • Search events: Type keywords into the search box and press enter on your keyboard to complete the search or;.
  • Create an Event Object that will be used as the Parent Event.
This Event should be complete with all details correct, as multiple copies will be made of this Parent when the recurrence is set.

To the right of the Parent Event , click on Options Button as shown in the below example and click Set Recurrence

Options -Set Recurrence

Recurrence (see example below)

    • Select either Weekly or Monthly in the Frequency
    • Set a Range either End after number or End by date
    • Select a Recur Every pattern ie: every week, 2 weeks etc
    • Confirm the Day is ticked

Set Event Recurrence

Click Preview Dates to show the dates for which Events will be created

Click Create Events to create the multiple events

You should now see your additional Events with their correct Start Date assigned

As mentioned above, individual Events can be edited or deleted without affecting the Parent Event.

Finally, see Deployment to deploy your website and make your events go live.

Edit Existing Events

From the Content menu go > Council Data and select Events.

Here you will see a list of all the events, including past events.
To edit an existing event click the Edit button.

  • Search events: Type keywords into the search box and press enter on your keyboard to complete the search.
