Deployment

Whenever you add, edit or delete something in the Unity console it must be "Deployed" to the live servers before visitors to your live website can see the changes.

The Unity6 console allows you to Preview your changes to pages and content prior to deployment so you must remember to deploy as the final step.

Permission to Deploy any website changes are assigned by your Website Administrator, therefore the instructions below may only apply to you if your Website Administrator has granted your user profile the correct permissions.

How to Deploy

To deploy website amendments to the live site go to the Deploy menu > New Deployment:

 

The “Website Deployment” window will appear, click on the Deploy button to initiate Deployment:

 

Please do not close this window until the deployment is complete:

 

When the deployment process has completed successfully the “Website Deployment” window will be displayed with the message “Deployment Complete”:

Flag Data for Deployment (Force Deployment)

This option is not recommended and should only be considered after contacting the ESP Team: dcwsupport@lga.sa.gov.au who will consult with the Unity™ developers.

Under no circumstances should it be used to force a deployment if there is an error (refer to the next section View Deployments to correct errors).

If instructed by the ESP Team, go Deploy Menu > Flag Data for Deployment.

 

In the "Flag Data for Deployment" window you can select particular data to be Force Deployed for instance Pages or particular Content Objects.

 

After selecting the elements to be Deployed click Deploy at the bottom of the screen.

View Previous Deployments

You can view website Deployments that have occurred in the past and confirm when the last deployment occurred via the following steps. Go to the Deploy menu > Previous Deployments.

The “Deployments” window will appear displaying previous deployments and their Status.
