Unity news on planned enhancements

Since our move to AdelaideCloud all websites are now delivered under HTTPS adding an extra layer of trust for your clients and editors. All councils now benefit from a more resilient and scalable infrastructure that underpins the continuing development of the Unity CMS. Read on for a list of exciting major enhancements now under development in Unity.

Below is a list of exciting major enhancements now under development in Unity

  • - Enhancements to the Spotlight Object to allow for the management of Home Page hero images without the need to edit templates. This upgrade will deliver a number of changes including:

- Image field for website carousel and dynamic lists

- Image field for My Local Services App carousel

- Developing a new dynamic list XSL for spotlights using a carousel.

  • - Adding a new button under latest news and events etc to Create Spotlight which brings across the Title and Link. Editors can then attach a Hero Page image and configure push notifications for the My Local Services App thereby streamlining announcements across the website and My Local Services App.
  • - Improvements to the Gallery Object to give editors greater choice in how image galleries display on their website. This update will also give editors the flexibility to implement their own display templates in-keeping with their overall website design.
  • - Allow for the display of unlimited map icons on the Map Search object and changes to make the content display more responsive
  • - Enhancements to the public site search to allow for partial searches without the need for wildcards.
  • - Update to the Latest News Object interface with a simplified content target selection. This will provide greater flexibility when linking a Latest News to other content in Unity ie: events and files.
  • - Inclusion of URL and File Upload options in the Staff News Object. This enhancement will utilise the above Latest News changes and provide greater flexibility for councils using Unity for their intranets
  • - Increases to file upload sizes across the board in Unity to cater for increased file sizes generally.
  • - Inclusion of a 'remember me' checkbox on secure Site Area login pages to allow staff and councillors to save their login and therefore streamline Intranet access

App receives a boost to deliver waste calendar

The LGA has released version 1.3 of the My Local Services App which delivers a calendar view of the waste schedule and additional links that direct residents to other essential waste related information. All 46 participating councils will benefit from this upgrade to the App.  View Item »

Unity 6.17 enhances Spotlights and more

This is a major release for the Unity CMS and incorporates a number of key features that have been requested as part of the Unity roadmap exercise. This update includes features to make it easier to manage your content on the website and My Local Services App which is used by the majority of councils in South Australia.  View Item »
