Unity 6.17 enhances Spotlights and more

This is a major release for the Unity CMS and incorporates a number of key features that have been requested as part of the Unity roadmap exercise. This update includes features to make it easier to manage your content on the website and My Local Services App which is used by the majority of councils in South Australia.

Release Notes

Spotlight Object

  • - Ability to use this Spotlight Object to manage homepage banner images
  • - Ability to Preview Spotlights in Unity Console and see how they will display on iPhone and Android devices
  • - New Recycling and waste reduction tips category for communicating educational information
  • - Removal of the on-deployment option for Push Notifications

Latest News and Staff News Object

  • - Simplified mechanism for how you choose additional content ie: article, file or URL
  • - Ability to Generate a Spotlight Object from a Latest News item
  • - Enhancing Staff News to have greater flexibility

Events Object

  • - Ability to Generate a Spotlight Object from an Event object
  • - Additional event foci
  • - New Event Dynamic List XSL to all the display dates in varying formats with optional data
  • - A list icon field to enable more graphically rich dynamic lists of Events

Secure Sites

  • - A new “remember me” cookie is included in this release that can streamline access to secure sites
  • - Refinement of the Document Management integration for HPE Content Manager increasing the benefit for councils that use one CMS for public and secure websites ie: intranet and councillors extranet

Other key enhancements in this release

  • - Display more icons in Map Search in a responsive design format
  • - Gallery images object has a more flexible display template and the ability for developers to include their own image gallery display format
  • - Increased file upload size limits across Files, Images, Minutes and Agenda and Tenders Objects
  • - Changes to spam filter settings to prevent emails from Unity sites not being delivered
  • - Site Search improved to cater for partial matches and single word searches
  • - Simpler method for developers to change default text on the Unity search form

Bug fixes in this release

  • - Unity Forms when assigned InActive now display correctly in lists
  • - Improvements to the non-linked filter to ensure correct results
  • - Refactoring file links to remove the contentFile method

App receives a boost to deliver waste calendar

The LGA has released version 1.3 of the My Local Services App which delivers a calendar view of the waste schedule and additional links that direct residents to other essential waste related information. All 46 participating councils will benefit from this upgrade to the App.  View Item »
